Blue Hour Theatre Group is a Nonprofit performing arts team based in Seattle.
We share stories that focus on the personal and social effects of an ever-changing world. Our goal is to present compelling human experiences that deal with the inequitable availability of resources, surviving a hostile climate, and the struggles we face to maintain meaningful connections with each other through it all.
We strive to produce 1 show a year or when time permits.
The inaugural production happened in 2019 with the political drama: TWO DEGREES by Tira Palmquist.
Founders Brian and Cat Brooks wanted the first show to capture the heart of Blue Hour's mission.
From there, more like-minded artists brought attention to scripts that would also ring true to the mission statement.
After a pandemic in 2020, BHT was put on hold and made a triumphant return in 2022 with their second production BOOM by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb. The momentum kept going in 2024, as the group presented an original stage play: THE PLAGUE MASTER GENERAL by Greg LoProto, earning Blue Hour its first Gregory Award Nomination for best Original Script.
Blue Hour Theatre Group officially became a 501c3 Nonprofit in the Spring of 2025. Over the Summer of 2025, the team focused on fundraising efforts and presenting staged-reading series.
Through these efforts, Blue Hour is ready to head back to the mainstage with its 4th production. This time they'll be back at 12th Ave Arts to present: CONTINUITY by Bess Wohl, coming in May of 2026.
